Winifred Foote McBride`s photography and scrapbooking hobbies in Nelson, B.C. were in full swing with the arrival of her two children.
Leigh Morgan McBride was a Hallowe`en baby, born October 31, 1917. His only sibling, brother Kenneth Gilbert McBride, was born January 20, 1920.
Both boys were healthy and brimming with energy. Leigh was more studious and intellectual, winning several awards for history and literature. Ken was a better athlete, excelling at basketball, badminton, billiards and, especially, golf. Leigh shared his passion for golf, and won his share of championships as a junior golfer. Their parents R.L. and Win were also keen golfers -- charter members of the Nelson Golf and Country Club when it opened in 1919.
